Instead of remaking movies that are barely 20 yrs old...

How about taking on something challenging and interesting like "Spellbound". I loved this movie, and it was very suspenseful...

** now I will look like a fool if this was remade under another name ;-) **

If you loved it, why do you want to see a remake?

I'd rather see any of those three talented directors working on original projetcs.

Some people are simply wrong. A good movie may deserve a GOOD retelling, but since Hollywood is, (by and large) incapable of doing this, they should simply stop.
Movies are art, when are they going to remake David or the Mona Lisa?

That's the best thing I've heard in years, austinman. Thanks for that.

I'm reading the original 1928 novel THE HOUSE OF DR. EDWARDES - it's considerably different from the film and they could make a new version from the book. It wouldn't be SPELLBOUND thought.

Maybe that would be better; a re-telling of the story closer to the Novel, set in today's time period.

I think a re-telling on the screen of a good story is a good thing; esp. if there is significant time between the original and the new. Audiences are different and I think it's a chance for screen writters to shine (if they can). -So to logic given here... A book is also art.... if it is so good... why make it into a movie... just tell everyone to read the book- I think the art of story telling is in the telling of a good story. And there can be infinite ways to tell that story; and I'm interested in seeing more.
