Practically in GP's lap
The ski scene is TOTAL nonsense.
Bergman would have had to be supposedly skiing 10 cm away from Peck
Peck dressed in a SUIT JACKET - maybe it was a dress rehearsal for Gentleman's Agreement?
No hats or helmets in FREEZING temps with tremendous wind effect (some say that you couldn't then see their faces -- one doesn't see sunsets either when filming underwater)
Bergman was looking 90 degrees to her right half the time (for no apparent reason to boot)
Absolute phony-looking background - almost expected to see a shadow of someone holding the mountains
The 'Road Runner brake scene' just before the abyss was beyond all reasonableness - and a total insult to a viewer
++++++++++
Almost as if Hitchcock had arrogant contempt for the audience - he came up with stage settings far more complicated and 'realistic' 10+ years earlier!
