Like so many of O'Hara's Technicolor swashbucklers from RKO, this one has been sadly overlooked. At least Fox gave us THE BLACK SWAN and Universal released AGAINST ALL FLAGS to DVD. (And a gray market copy of AT SWORD'S POINT can be found, online.)
Editions Montparnasse release a PAL version in France as Pavilion Noir. Not a great transfer, but acceptable. The french subtiytles are removeable but there are no extras apart from an introduction by a Frenchman with scary eyebrows.
"Life flash before your eyes? Cup of tea, cup of tea, almost got a shag, cup of tea."
I got that dvd version thankgod for getting rid the french subtitles. Although i would'nt of minded English subtitles when the french critic guy was talking about the film and yes they are some scary eyebrows there.
