Spanish Galleon

The Spanish Galleon in this movie is my favorite movie model ship.

Here is a link to Blackbeard the Pirate (1952) which reused some scenes with the Spanish galleon. The link in my previous post went bad somehow.

Andhere is another copy of another copy of the link to a scene with the galleon in The Spanish Main (1945).

And here is a link to a series of stills, some featuring the Spanish galleon, from The Spanish Main (1945).

When I first saw Blackbeard the Pirate (1952) on black and white television, I thought that the background color of the galleon's sails was green. It is hard to judge colors from monchrome images.

Of course the ship is much too modern in design to be called a galleon, but nautical and other terminology in popular culture such as movies is often used very loosely.
