I have wondered about this for years. But I have been assured it was. But I was also told that there was a location around Santa Anita race track that was used. The location filming of this still fascinates me.

Some of the jungle scenes were filmed at the old Baldwin Ranch, across the road from Santa Anita racetrack, in Arcadia, California. In 1947, two years after "Objective, Burma!" was released, the ranch was bought by Los Angeles County to be developed as a botanical garden. It opened to the public as the Los Angeles County Arboretum in 1955.
