During the movie, they showed a lot of scenes in Manhattan with trains above ground. Was it in the old Meatpacking district area or in Queens or Brooklyn.
It's very intriguing.

Oh back then there were many ELs in Manhattan to this day the 125th St (Broadway) stop of the the number 1 train is an EL.
In the more recent film Aaron Loves Angela there's a scene at the end where the title leads are on said station
Back in 1973 I rode the last remaining part of the THIRD AVENUE EL
which was in The Bronx.
Mayor Fiorello H. La Guardia hated the ELs and had most of them taken down
on location with SUPERMAN I,& OTHER STARS
