John Carradine makes quite a good Dracula in this movie and the special effects are good (it was made in 1945 and I think was the last main movie in which Lionel Atwill appeared - he died the following April. I notice that Dracula casts no reflection in the mirror but does cast a shadow - any comments on this?
shareI agree about Carradine. He makes a very physically imposing Dracula - especially with the top hat.

The reasoning behind the no reflection in the mirror, is that mirrors used silver as the reflective material. Doesn't make a lot sense but that's what it is.

shareThey fixed this goof in the next film in Abbott and Costello meet Frankenstein in the scene when Dracula bites Sandra on the neck. Dracula's reflection is clearly shown in the mirror however no shadow is shown
