...This is, for me, the best movie made of all time. It's got so much going on. Question: Where can I find an edition entitled, as it was created, "Les Enfants du Paradis," and not the translated title, that will play in North America--Canada, specifically? If I buy it at, say, Amazon France, it won't play here, as I understand it. Also, like another requestor, I'd like the script in French as well.

I think the Criterion release is the only Region 1 version. You may just need to order it from France and find a region free dvd player.
shareIf you really, REALLY want it, you can order a french edition and stick your criterion disc in that one, OR try and find an HQ french cover scan on the web, print it out and make yourself a nice custom box for your film, (i have made LOTS of these for foreing films, especially japanese and chinese, i use cheap photo paper and a 7 color inket i fitted with a CIS so ive never have to buy those damn expensive ink cartridges)
