It's on TCM - Sunday, March 13th!!

Heads up - this wonderful movie is on, Sunday March 13th at 9am (Pacific Time) on TCM.

I already have it flagged with a reminder!  And don't forget to turn your clocks ahead an hour for Daylight Saving.

Watching it now, with my mimosa perfume on!

reply

I'm watching it too...but I've always wanted to know what mimosa perfume smelled like. I Googled mimosa once and you can see the plant and learn how to make the drink. But unfortunately, you can't smell the perfume online.  I think I'll always be a little curious.

I was curious, too, because of this film, so I ordered some online. I wanted to know what the scent was when the ghost came visiting.

The thread is gone now, from IMDb's occasional board-wiping, but I'd posted about it here. Some wag commented that it was a good thing for me that the ghost didn't come with the smell of horse manure. 

I answered that, unfortunately, I knew what that smelled like. 

When you set a reminder, does it send you an email? I used to get them, but no longer. I have tried contacting TCM about it, but I never get a response.

reply

Mine doesn't. I have cable and the reminder comes on the TV screen one minute before the show set for a reminder starts. An email would be nice, huh? No idea how that could be set up.

reply

To be more clear, if one goes to TCM.com and goes to the daily schedule of movies, and clicks on a movie, there are reminders. You enter your email, and it is supposed to send you a reminder. If you set it up more than a week out, it will send you one seven days out, and then one day out. It used to work for me, but has not done so in months.

reply

Thanks for that, gema6. I honestly didn't know TCM.com had that feature. I used to visit their page a lot but since I got my new laptop, I lost the favorites that my old computer had. I'll check it out and try it to see if it works for me. I'll get back to you and let you know if it works. Thanks again for letting me know about it.

reply

Hi gema6...maybe it was too soon, but I set a reminder on TCM.com like you mentioned, and got NOTHING on my email. I'll try again with a movie that's going to be shown in a couple of weeks. Let's see if that works. If it hasn't worked for you lately, they might have stopped that feature. Maybe they got too many and couldn't do it any longer. Who knows?

reply

Let me know. I have tried it numerous times, and I was wondering if it was just myself or my email address. Thus, if it doesn't work for you, it might not be an option any longer, as you suggested. It would be nice if the feature brought up a message saying that it was no longer in use, when people tried to use it.

reply

I totally agree with you. It would be nice if they removed their "reminder" thing if it no longer works. Just to let you know...I set one for a movie on Easter Sunday. Either way, I'll let you know.

reply

Hi gema6...I wanted to let you know that I've received NO email reminders for the 2 movies I set last week. I just 'Googled' something for TCM no longer sending reminders and apparently we're not the only ones who want to use this feature. According to the forum on TCM, it works for iPhones or smartphones. It no longer works for email. Sorry.

Happy Easter 

That's too bad. Not everyone is glued to a smart phone.

reply

I agree...I don't even use my cell phone for anything but making calls. I call it a dumb phone.  But I really did hope the reminder feature from TCM would work. oh well...we tried!

reply

Me too. I have a cheap Tracfone in my car in case it breaks down. I could get into the habit of living on it, I just don't want to do that.

I don't understand the point of having reminders work on phones but no longer over email...people still use it. However, as you said, we tried.

I need to get back to "The Invisible Man" on Svengoolie :)

I'm watching it now. It's on for another 45 minutes here, East. I looked this on site here while watching because the use of a Ouija board really surprised me. I think the first time I saw it used was from the movie Witchboard from 1986, with Tawny Kitaen in it. It wasn't as good as this, but I don't know of an earlier use than in this one, The Uninvited. It might be commonly used on some stuff with Bela, or Boris.

I've seen a couple of movies that had a Ouija board, too...but don't remember seeing the letters spread around a table like they did here. Interesting. And I agree about Bela and Boris. Two wonderful actors. 
