Song in this movie

I was wondering whether anyone knows what song the pianist sings in this movie? I liked it very much could anyone please help me? It's the scene where he sings for maybe two or three minutes before Bacall starts to sing.

Thanks in advance,

JC

It's called "Am I Blue", you can find bits of it on Kazaa but I've yet to find the full song.

The song is called "Am I Blue" - words by Grant Clarke, music by Harry Akst.
It was written in 1929 and introduced in the film "On With the Show" by Ethel Waters that year.
It's most famously sung by Barbra Streisand in the 1975 film "Funny Lady" and is on the soundtrack.

anybody know of a soundtrack for this film?

Still no one has understood the question. It's "Hong Kong Blues" by Hoagy Carmichael himself. I think it's in an album of his, but I have not listened to it myself.

Cheers.

The song that Hoagy wrote for the movie is "How Little We Know", the song that the piano player sings is "Am I Blue"

there is also a song called "Baltimore Oriole" that was recorded for the movie, but did not make the final cut. for some reason, it appears on an album i have called Hollywood: The First 15 Years that i bought off the cheap rack when i was in London. it's actually a pretty cool cd-set cuz it's got a number of recordings from the late 20's through the early 40's that a probably pretty difficult to find.

I was just watching the special features of the DVD and I noticed 'Baltimore Oriole' during the Merrie Melodies short. It's played throughout.

All Hoagy Carmichael material can be found on 'Hoagy Carmichael: The First of the Singer-Songwriters'. It was released as a 4-CD set in 2002 and includes 101 songs, some of them recorded multiple times and by other artists. It covers the 'solid years' as I like to call them: 1924-1946
