Michael Curtiz's verison of this novel “The Breaking Point”


I found to be the much better film.
That said, this movie still is better than most!

Not better, just different. This one is so Warner Brothers, and I love that WB feel to it, but it's got that foreign intrigue/cartoon world map kinda vibe that are in a lot of movies made during the time. The Curtiz one is more dark.

There's another version of this story called The Gun Runners (1958), which leans more toward the Curtiz one but is over-melodramatic. It's a tier below in quality compared to both.
