Have Yourself not Nominated
So unfair that the classic Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas wasn't nominated for an Oscar yet the Trolley Song was.
share"Have Yourself" was probably considered a standard (or to put it in your words a classic), and they just nominate original new songs, although it's definitely a great song. It makes me cry every time I hear it. In fact, to be honest, I first cried when Judy sang it, and didn't stop until the movie was over, the protracted ending was just so moving.

Just an FYI, but Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas was an original song written specifically for this movie. IMHO, it definitely deserved a nomination.
shareWhenever I watch "The Family Stone" and one of the daughter, then joined by her father are watching this particular scene of the movie, it moves me so much, makes me really think that America in general thinks this is the quintessential Xmas movie/song and that everybody loves Judy :)
