Song lyrics are nonsense!

I just watched Meet me in St. Louis last night and was struck by the absolute nonsense lyrics of "Skip to My Lou." None of them make sense, though the music is wonderful, and the words are sung beautifully. But the lyrics, wow. They're complete nonsense!
