david lycnh took a lot from this i feel

i have a sinking feeling that DL was inspired from parts of this to make blue velvet the knife scene comes to mind.. DL takes a lot form old moves to write his scripts. also a rosalini is in it... obviously.

any wya i love this film.. i love the madness and mood lighting this seems like it would be a noir film but its not really ..

also im a big fan of geroge cukor i recently read a bio of him beacuse i love this film so much...

I haven't yet seen this film (I will soon, through its Youtube host), but I have a very strong feeling you're correct. BTW now that I've seen and digested INLAND EMPIRE, I feel as though DL has little else to teach me. I consider IE his masterpiece, and if he has anything else to do then it will be for the sake of a younger audience then me LOL.

Gaslight has been lingering on the edge of my hearing/consciousness for many years - it's going to be a real treat to see it finally. And now I'm leaving imdb until I can see it for myself and formulate my own opinions before exposing myself to those of others expressed on here.

Food for thought: I seriously doubt that there's anything new under the sun. If there's anything new, then it's probably located *inside* the sun.
