The two guys dancing

I loved it when the two soldiers boogied together, holding hands, embracing each other, and twirling each other around. I know the context was purely innocent, but I don't know if anything like that has been done before. There was an early silent clip with two guys slow dancing, but this one was pure revelry. I'm sure it made Oscar Wilde smile from above.

Yes, I love the swing dance routine. You see it in a lot of war movies, where there were no ladies around. It was always so sweet, and so well done!

I agree, you do see this quite a bit in old war movies (and a few old prison flicks), and it was entertaining.

Too funny, I've never seen them swing dance in prison! :>

I loved it! They certainly had some great dance moves and the boys were so cute together...

Very charming scene.

You can still see it at Marine Corps Balls in locations where there aren't a lot of accompanied Marines.... or eligible single ladies. Every year we were in GTMO we would see them dancing together, although it tended more toward break dancing and hip hop now.

Stalag 17, you get both a war movie & a prison movie.....

But yes, it was not uncommon in the movies or real life in an all male situation (long term with limited entertainment options) for the guys to dance with each other. In the (well done) movies, look for a badge/rag/something tied onto all the "girls'" arms, something to signify that, at least for that evening, someone else should lead ;)

Please stop wondering. You're going to pop your garter belt! Yes it was a "BoyBoy" moment! But, it being one of my favorite films...I'll let it slide your steering it in that direction.
