to have noticed a very young Peter Lawford in film's beginning as a "blimey" sailor in pub. I believe he went on to a greater career in other films and as a fave drunken bum friend of the greasey Sinatra.

I was watching this movie for the first time in ages, and noticed him immediately... thought I was losing my mind, but I finally got around to checking IMDB - and I was right!
Lawford indeed went on to a rather good career in movies and TV. And mind you, this was pre-internet, but I seem to remember reading something several ages ago that his surviving family was one of the first to admit (in print) that his life could have been much longer, and his career even better if he had knocked off the booze. They admitted he was a full-blown alcoholic until the day he died.
Lawford was the one who got the rat pack together for the Oceans 11 film and was the only one to take it seriously.
Its that man again!!
