A lying flashback!
Alfred Hitchcock's Stage Fright is often considered the first movie to use a "lying flashback," where the camera shows the audience an inaccurate version of what happened in the past. How interesting that it happens 7 years earlier in Sherlock Holmes Faces Death, in the first 10 minutes of the movie! We don't find out it was a lie until the very end, obviously. Pretty cool.
