Why did the door open t the moment after Tet shot himself?

Just seconds after Mahor Tetley commited the coup de gras on himself the wooden door popped open. Was he leaning into it? Seems implausible. I'd read about it somewhere a long time ago and I just saw it and indeed, the door swung outwards almost immediately upon the gunshot. I can't recall what the answer was but I'd be curious to know how that could have occurred (sans artistic license on the part of director William Wellman).

Why don't you look a bit further down the board, this question has already been exhaustively discussed in the thread (Spoiler) The door starts to open ...

I'm sorry for offending you. Of course, you're right. I knew I'd seen it somewhere before. Thank you for pointing out my silly mistake. And please forgive my rude remark earlier. It was uncalled for and I regret it.

You didn't offend me, I was just trying to be helpful. But why do you object to me raising the point I did about The New World, when you think this point worth raising about The Ox-Bow Incident? These boards are all about those silly little questions, aren't they? And what makes you think I'm male?

Some of those threads no longer exist. Not all of us have the contents of these boards memorized and we don't necessarily know what has or hasn't been discussed here. This is my first time visiting this particular board.

Anyhow, regarding the door...production flaw, that's all. I wouldn't waste my time writing a PhD thesis on it.

Production flaw, nothing more and nothing less. I'm amazed at what kinds of bizarre interpretations people will have of this scene. The movie is from 1943. No DVDs back then. People couldn't zoom in, rewind, rewind again, etc. in order to see the scene a gazillion times and write a PhD thesis on it.
