Why is this film so hard to find?
Hi Everyone,
Why is this film so hard to find? I always wanted to watch this film.
Hi Everyone,
Why is this film so hard to find? I always wanted to watch this film.
It has been available on DVD from Columbia/Tri-Star (Sony) since 2004.
However, as with most Columbia/Tri-Star DVDs, it's rather expensive, especially considering that it is pretty barebones. The list price is $24.95, which is pretty exorbitant for a barebones DVD (no commentary, no special features).
However, if you can rent DVDs (Netflix, Blockbuster, etc.), you should be able to find this available.
(The reason it is not shown on television is because it's from Columbia, and Columbia does not have its own movie channel. Turner Classic Movies has access to RKO, MGM and Warner Brothers titles, and Fox Movie Channel has access to the archives of 20th Century Fox, but Columbia titles have to be leased, and Turner has shown THE MORE THE MERRIER about a year ago, when they had Jean Arthur as "star of the month", but it is not a title that they seem to have on long-term lease. But it has been shown.)
But the DVD is available, i would check discount e.tailers, such as DeepDiscount.com, and see if it might not be on sale.

Watching it right now on TCM, 2/14/2010 - 12:00 pm, as part of the 31 Days of Oscar promotion. TCM is showing more Columbia and Fox films. Hope this is a new trend.
shareOr pay your local library a visit where there is good, free service! It's how I discovered classic movies!
