When she went from Scotland to England (Yorkshire?), how far (in miles) had she supposedly traveled?

I don't know the exact mileage, but in the scene where Lassie arrives back at the home, the father says "She must have traveled hundreds of miles."

Depending on the actual locations, it could have been 100 miles. Edinburgh to York is just under 200. So if Lassie was very far north in Scotland (does the story say?) she would have travelled quite a few miles, but not the thousands in the trailers.

The film description on the video says 1000 miles. I find that a bit of a stretch. If it was the northernmost part of Scotland to the southernmost part of Yorkshire that would be far less mileage.
