Impressive sets


A lot of the film looked like it was filmed on sets with cliffs and rivers and aeroplanes (presumably not full scale but pretty big) being shot down. Not a particularly good film, a bit of war time, pro Chinese propaganda with Alan Ladd trying to look a bit too tough but ably supported by William Bendix and Loretta Young.
Ladd had a good name though, David Llewellyn Jones - very Welsh.

Yeah it's a solid wartime B-movie. You can see some elements that Lucas and Spielberg later cribbed for Indiana Jones.

Pro Chinese was the only way to go at that time. China was being ravaged by Japan.
