Skipping down the stairs was amazing!
I can't imagine anyone being able to do what Cagney does down the White House Steps at the end of the movie. That was incredible.

The only odd thing about the White House scenes was that the sets looked nothing like the real White House. The there was the fact that a significant award like Cohan received was given unceremoniously with just he and the president in the room.
I absolutely love that scene. And I believe it was actually ad-libed by Cagney at the last minute. That makes it even more memorable. Just incredible.
shareIt's a great sequence, but I wonder if it really was improvised right then and there b/c otherwise all you would have had was Cagney walking down a flight of stairs.
