Warner Brothers Home Video has announced a DVD release of the original TO BE OR NOT TO BE for March 1, 2005. It'll be available either alone or in a box set of classic comedies being released on the same day (Libeled Lady, Dinner at Eight, Stage Door, and 2-disc special editions of Philadelphia Story and Bringing Up Baby). There will probably be extras, but what they are hasn't been announced yet. WB mentioned last year in a chat that TO BE has been remastered from the original nitrate negative.

Thanks for the heads-up! That is exciting news. Now I'd like to see "Twentieth Century" hit DVD. Carole Lombard was just so hilariously spectacular...

Actually, "Twentieth Century" is being released by Columbia on February 22, the week before "To Be Or Not to Be." It's a good time for classic comedy fans.
