Me confused!

Why does tobin blow up ships and airplanes? How does he profit from it?

What exactly happened in the cabin in soda city? Barry showed the two men the newspaper with his picture on it and they just took him in as one of theirs?? I didn’t get that part.

It started out very suspenseful and cool, but it soon turned into a typical thriller, very complex, not very original.

I am pretty sure Tobin works for Nazis. In soda city, Barry told the two men that he is the saboteur and he is sent by Tobin. Barry told them, because he wanted to find out what Tobin's next mission is.

Tobin does indeed work for a foreign enemy power although which isn't specified. He profits by blowing up ships, dams and factories in two ways;

1. It's inferred that he is being paid to do so by a foreign power either in actual currency or perhaps in war spoils or trading power.

2. He states that totalitarian nations "get things done" and that they're basically better for the elite to make large amounts of money in. In the long-term, if America fell to facism and totalitarianism then his wealth would give him tremendous power which in turn would allow him to create even more wealth.
