Colorized version?

Please forgive me--I don't mean to be blasphemous toward anyone who is not crazy about "colorized" versions of films--

But, a long time ago I saw a colorized version of "Kings Row" on either AMC or the old "Z Channel," I can't remember. I know color negates the dark mood and qualities of the story, but I think it was the most well-done attempt at this process.

Does anyone else remember seeing this version? Is it available of VHS or even DVD, I wonder?

Thanks.
Gregory

What is this 'Z Channel' you speak of? Also, the colrized version, most often on VHS, appears on eBay every so often

So you do not approve of colorized films? Then DON'T WATCH THEM, *beep*

The great, late "Z Channel" was a pay channel on cable in L. A.--one of the first, actually, founded in the mid-'70s. They showed an incredibly wide variety of wonderful films. Unfortunately, the main programmer committed suicide in the late '80s. There's a film about it called "Z Channel: A Magnificent Obsession."

Would you colorize photos of Ansel Adams?

reply

Yeah. They probably would.

WOULD YOU COLORIZE 'CITIZEN KANE'?

They'd have done it already if Orson Welles' contract from waaaaaaaaayyyyyyy back in the day didn't allow it. :)
