Anyone else grow up watching movies like Casablanca on afternoon movies?

I grew up watching Casablanca and many other golden era movies on Detroit TV 50's"Bill Kennedy at the Movies." I was raised in Upper MI but we got Detroit's super station and loved the great classics that the one-time actor showed!

Here's my blog post for Casablanca courtesy of TV 50!

I must be a little older than you as I grew up in Detroit & remember Bill Kennedy as the announcer on The Adventures of SUPERMAN for years before moving back to the Detroit area.

He then hosted Bill Kennedy's SHOWTIME on Windsor, Ontario's powerhouse
CKLW TV from the late 50's through the 60's.

Bill then came back across the river to Detroit and WKBD CH. 50 for Bill
Kennedy's AT THE MOVIES for a while before retiring to Florida...

There were lots of old films on TV when I was young, mainly on BBC2. Later when Channel 4 started, they showed a lot of old films too.
