All she did was deliberately annoy Bambi as a child, and then as an adult, she took advantage of the "spring fever" that Bambi was caught in. (I'm talking about BEFORE Ronno shows up.)
Then she needed to be saved, TWICE, without deserving it.
Uh, actually, she chose Bambi,,and was glad that he fought for her, AND he stayed around. Most males, including deer, lol, usually leave the mom to raise the kid alone,,just like Bambi's Dad did. Faline was flirting with Bambi, because she liked him. It's all just a story about the way life is in the forest, minus the dialogue. What pissed me off was that Bambi's mom was killed.
The mother's death is part of why Bambi's an inherently disturbing story, regardless of one's position about hunting. Nonhunters 4 obvious reasons, & hunters because it puts them on the defensive by asking them to be sentimental towards the deer that they hunt. She's an easy character to love(as are deer in general) but she's also considered fair game(same species comparison). This invites conflict & controversy. I wrote an article called "Frankly My Deer" that (I think) puts what we feel about deer in perspective.
Kyle: It's bigger than Cartman's @$$! Eric: No it isn't you guys
It isnt about her. as someone else pointed out (that you guys promptly flamed him for, just because he didn't say what you guys wanted to hear, I guess), she is just supposed to be the love interest.
But yes, she teased him (something people seem to have NO problem with boys doing to girls- "boys will be boys" but girls doing it is stupid ), had a crush on him, flirted with him. That is doing something. And of course she "took advantage" of it- do you think these are people or animals?
What on earth do you want her to do? Wield a sword and fight those dogs to the death to rescue Bambi?
