Documentary

After watching this again, I realized that this is basically just an animated documentary. That isn't a bad thing and this is certainly one of Disney's best

I'd say it's more a story about life in general.

The story of Bambi is the story of: childhood innocence, losing that innocence, dealing with the loss of loved ones, growing up into a adult, falling in love for the first time, facing adult problems and dealing with them, having children of your own, etc.

It's just the circle of life, but told through a deers pov instead of a humans.

One thing I've always admired about 'Bambi' is unlike every other Disney film...their is really no villain in the story.

Sure you could say that 'Man' is sort of the villain.

But really he's just ANOTHER part of the harshness of life for the animals...much like the winter that comes and deprives them of food, etc.

For the animals he's almost portrayed like a tornado or tsunami is for humans, something that can't be predicted or understood, just a fact of life that one must deal with.

So more then a documentary I'd say Bambi is a tale about life itself.

Life can be both beautiful and hard, but ultimately like the character of Bambi we grow up, learn to deal with our problems, and come out the other end a stronger person.
