'When you're slapped you'll take it and like it!'


I just got done watching ACROSS THE PACIFIC for the 2nd time and I see Bogie's famous line from THE MALTESE FALCON listed under this movie's memorable quotes section. I certainly remember a lot of scenes that are reminiscent of the superior FALCON but I don't remember that famous line being duplicated! Is this a mistake or did I zone out?

I just rewatched this movie, and I don't believe this line is in there either. OTOH, I did notice that Bogart tells Mary Astor "You're good. You're very, very good", almost the exact thing he tells her in The Maltese Falcon. This was almost certainly a sly joke.
