Since Custer was in Washington for his court-martial in the month of June-
hot summer months, why was there a roaring fire in President Grant's fire-
place? There was another fireplace going in the fort's bar, though it might
be cooler in the dakota territory on the 25th of june,1876 but not hot Wash-
ington ,DC!

When Grant tosses his partially smoked cigar into the fireplace, HE MISSES!
I hope a gaffer was there to put out any fires.
