A minor goof.
When Custer is resting in his "new quarters" at West Point and Major Tate confronts Custer for being in Tate's room. He asks Custer what is the name of the man who put him there and Custer replies "Mudd". The problem is that this is BEFORE the civil war and that phrase came about because of the doctor that treated John Wilkes Booth after his flight from his assassination of Lincoln.
