Scenes rushed?

In some other movies, Hitchcock sometimes dragged his scenes on forever.

However, in Suspicion, I got the feeling that important scenes occurred deliberately fast, shorter than usual. Actors and actresses said their lines, did their thing, fast, and....suddenly....fade to black.

That strategy here rapidly built suspense. It seemed designed to quickly stimulate the audience's guessing about Cary Grant's true intentions and Lina's suspicions.

Anyone else feel that?
