The Production Code

Both Grant and Dunne, were in the same bed, during the first baby scene. I thought that this was against the Code, even in 1941.

...except in technical/format terms (without touching the aspect ratio) so that generations to come can treasure this picture. it is as beautiful and relevant today as the day it was conceived.

then again, there are those who would not only rewrite mozart but bad-mouth him every step of the way; too bad they never had ears to begin with.

I just watched this last night, and was surprised by that too. The night before I watched 'Call Northside 777', with James Stewart and Helen Chandler (1948), and they were in separate beds.

It wasn't against the code to show that a husband and wife slept in the same bed. It was against the code to actually show them on-screen in bed together.
