Whatever happened to the remake of this to star Hugh Grant?

I hear somewhere that there was to be a remake of this with Hugh Grant a year or two ago, whatever happened? I was so excited about it!

Maybe they decided to not make it, or maybe the will re-make it later on.

It was remade in 1964 as "I'd Rather Be Rich."
