Whom do you think had the louder scream- Joan Davis or Evelyn Ankers? I ask this because Ankers was commonly considered the best screamer at Universal Studios, but my friend watched this film and actually thought that Joan Davis screamed better! He said that she sounded louder than Evelyn, which I found a little hard to believe, considering Evelyn's reputation as the champion screamer.

Joan Davis's character had a good "Hollywood" scream, hence her career as a screamer on the radio.
And it's hilarious when she actually does get scared, she starts having trouble breathing... and Ankers is the one who screams, and her scream is blood-curdling.
Not sure about loudness, but Ankers's definitely raises the hairs on my arm.
Joan's scream was louder. But Evelyn's was more believable in my opinion.
