If any modern-day comic would remind of Lou Costello, it'd probably be Jack Black. Kevin James may look like him--short and squat--but that's pretty much it.

Yeah, I can see it. In watching KOQ, I think it's pretty clear Kevin James is a big fan of Costello: the way he is enjoying watching the Abbott and Costello Mummy movie in one episode. And a chunk of his comedy is inspired by Costello. And I recall James stammering in a fearful situation a la Costello in a KOQ scene that mirrored Costello. And James LOVES to do slapstick stuff.
