Saul Hodgkin (spoiler alert)

I love this film, but I've often wondered when Saul Hodgkin, the fifth columnist, supposedly died of fright, how he managed to walk out of the side office without anyone seeing him, there was only one way out, also no window and there was always someone in the waiting room and he would have had to pass through that room to escape, or have I missed something?

Hello again adamknox, and sorry for the 13 month delayed reply.
Yeh, here's a few more for you.....When Tommy Gander stopped the train for 2 minutes at the most, to retrieve his hat, why was he blamed for them all missing the connection to Truro by 15 minutes? and why is Fal vale station even there, in the middle of nowhere, four short miles from anywhere, I mean who uses it? and also, Saul hodgkin has a "wife and children" looking to him, a wife and great grandchildren more like!
After saying all that, it's still one of my favourite films!
