I just saw it & I enjoyed it a lot . Lana Turner is such a cute lady. At times ,John Shelton could be mistaken for Robert Taylor. He sound's just like him. I enjoyed the message, Don't give up !!

shareWatching it right now in 2013 and this husband is great. He feels bad about being on relief (welfare nowadays) so he will work for nothing as long as he is working ! Love it !

shareI recorded it earlier and I'm watching it now. I think it's a good little movie. I came over to IMDB to find some info on John Shelton, but could find very little, except that he had five wives, Kathryn Grayson being one of them.
shareI like it too. What a great little movie. I recorded it when it was on TCM just a couple if days ago and watched it now. I first caught the end of it on TCM around a year and a half ago and kept looking for it again. It took that long for them to repeat it. I know it wasn't filmed in New York but I loved the reference to Bellevue Hospital near the end. That shows me they went for a little NY authenticity instead of just saying any made up hospital name.
shareThe movie was supposed to be a snapshot view of life in the big city; specifically New York. I don't think it would have mattered if they'd made up the hospital name; only those familiar with New York would have caught on. That said, it was a nice touch to be authentic. I always wonder if they need to have permission to use an actual name in the movie.
