Anyone who's seen the film recently: PLEASE HELP !!

This is one of many films that I'm using in my current dissertation on the Hollywood happy ending. The only problem is the copy I have is so bad and it keeps sporadically cutting out to static, including IN THE LAST FEW SECONDS!!! Stupidly, the movie isn't available on DVD...

So the thing I need to know, if anyone can help, is: what happens EXACTLY in the last few moments? I know that they're embracing outside the courtroom and she's crying and he's he's promising to wait for her. Then... does she walk away / get taken away to jail? Does it fade out whilst the two of them are kissing? If anyone could help I would be so grateful... Thanks!

It fades out while the two of them are embracing. I don't remember if they're kissing or not, but it definitely ends with the two shot of them holding each other in (appropriately enough) the holding cell.

It fades out while the two are still kissing while "Back Home in Indiana" is turned up a notch on the soundtrack.

One of my favorite films of all time. The love and respect that Lee (Stanwyck) now has for John (MacMurray) is truly palpable. He feels terrible that she now has to go to prison but she feels that once her time is served she can start anew as his wife with a clean slate.
