Dubbing argument for Fantasia

A lot of people probably know that the 2000 Anthology release of Fantasia had a problem with the original Deems Taylor audio track that was apparently damaged and redubbed for the DVD release. With the coming of the new Blu-ray release of the film, the Anthology has cast early criticism.

I recently called the Disney Studios and talked to two members of the technical crew behind the home entertainment releases (DVD, Blu-ray) and I was told that the original and correct Deems Taylor audio track will be present in the coming release of Fantasia/Fantasia 2000.

If people still doubt that what Disney says and what it actually does are two different things, then I am sorry, but that's the best I've got

and I just read that the bluray only has the redubbed track - no original Deems Taylor track --

so what does that say about Disney commitment to preserving the original FANTASIA?

They clearly explained on the legacy disc why it was like that. If I hadn't seen that part, I would've agreed with everything you're saying. And let's not forget that the late Roy Disney aka Walt's nephew had some say over that issue.

"HOPSCOTCH!"
