What they should Do for Fantasia 3.....

You guys can post your ideas too, but my suggestion is portraying The Divine Comedy. It's already slightly rumored that that's what folks at Disney are gonna do already that for the possible next insalment, well, more specifically, Dante's Inferno, and I say go with it, show the whole thing.
It should be at the end of the moive, the dark, epic closing finale to the film. Like the other closing songs, the first half could be dark and scary, and the second half quiet at first before building to the epic happy ending.
How they could do that is first show Dante's inferno in the first half, then combine Purgatorio and Paradiso for the second half. And I don't want Mickey and stuff playing Dante, I want human character designs. And, for inspiration, they COULD use the hellish atmosphere from the Dante's Inferno Game for the look in the segment.

I'd say you could portray the divine comedy on the rating level that Night on Bald Mountain was done. NoBM showed demons getting created, broken down and reformed into monsters and animals, then getting cast into the fires of suffering.

The problem with Dante's inferno is that Dante is the central character, and so far the Fantasia series has been based around a loosely connected series of short stories which mainly showcased animals or humanoid creatures (chernabog, the forest dryad, etc). Basing the entire film around an actual human might not work as well since it would anchor the story and location to Dante.

"I'm gonna kill him, rape him, and eat his costume!"

When you say "basing the entire film on an actual human" do you mean have the whole movie just be about The Divine Comedy? That wasn't my original intent. True, the Divine Comedy has too much info to condense into 3-4 minutes, so I would sugget having a 10-minute or so segment for each story in the "trilogy" if you will, and in between show segments of other stories. Overall, the Divine comedy would take up no more than 30 minutes of what is presumably a 80-90 minute film.

I don't think it even needs that long, you could just have the circles go by one after another, with Dante's reaction being the main constant. You could easily make it about the average length of the segments from the previous films, centered around 3 shorter pieces of music. Or one very varied piece of classical music. If it was just Inferno, if could fit anywhere around the middle of the film. If it was all three, i would see it being a finale, similar to Bald Mountain and Eva Maria in the original.

I do have to acknowledge one of the original posters that a heavily religious visual segment might be something Disney would balk now compared to the Disney of the 1940's. Though I'd love to be proven wrong.

That's actually a good way of putting it.

And yeah, I'd like to be proven wrong too.
