I seem to recall a music video of Wonderful world, Beautiful people (Jimmy Cliff version?) set to the Pegasus segment from Fantasia. (also other songs set to bits from different Disney films, Tutti Frutti comes to mind with Donald & Daisy).
Have they been released anywhere? I can't even find them on youtube and I'd really like to see them again.
Yes! It was one of the music videos from Disney's "DTV" (their answer to MTV).
I can't seem to find it on youtube anywhere, but the video you speak of is on the VHS "DTV Rock, Rhythm, & Blues", which you may be able to find online. :)
Some of the "newer" Disney music-montages have been put on youtube, but most of them seem to lack the charm of the original DTV. (Using songs from their own movies and setting them to scenes from other movies--e.g., "Step in Time" from "Mary Poppins" to an early Mickey cartoon) Probably because they can't get the clearance/music rights any more. Too bad, I'd love to see the original DTV videos on DVD.
