DVD is here!

As mentioned on another thread, "Dr. Cyclops" is now out on DVD, part of Universal's Sci-Fi Ultimate Collection Vol. 2, along with "Cult of the Cobra", "The Land Unknown", "The Deadly Mantis" and "The Leech Woman". At present it's only available at Best Buy for $19.99, though the first volume eventually became available everywhere and this likely wil too.

"Dr. C" looks fantastic, great color and print. At under $4 a title, a terrific buy.

I can't find this set on the Best Buy website nor the universal dvd shopping website. Any thing you can add to help find it?

thanks

Have you tried going to a Best Buy store instead? I happened to find it by accident in a BB outlet I hadn't been in for months; it hadn't even been in their store flyer, though later on it was. Don't know if it was ever offered on their site.

From what I've heard elsewhere these sets sold out pretty quickly, and after about a month I went back and saw they were in fact almost all gone. (Someone wrote he saw people buying a dozen or more of them at a clip, obviously to re-sell them later, since the first collection went out of print after a few months and sells at very high prices on line.)

The best I can advise is to check as many Best Buy stores as you can to see if they have any left. Failing that, the first collection did briefly become available from other stores and sites, and this one might too. Before submitting to some price gouger, it might be worth it to wait and see. If I hear of it anywhere else, I'll post a reply to your question again. Good luck!

My suggestion is to go to ebay immediately and buy a copy now. That's what I did. The collection was out for less than two months, but was sold out at Best Buy, so I purchased a brand new unopened copy for less than $30 on ebay. I just checked it and saw that some sellers still have it reasonably priced. If you wait too much longer, they'll be asking $100-plus for this one, too.

It does look great. Tell us, where did you get your copy of the set? I have it myself but as you can see a lot of people may have missed it at Best Buy. Thanks!

it's on amazon.com but under new & used!

I just took a look at the Amazon prices. Not as bad as I was expecting, though until and unless more come on the market I expect the price to shoot up. Obviously some people stocked up to sell at a profit on Amazon! Glad I got mine at Best Buy...especially since (not to rub it in), I ended up getting it for free because I had some of their Reward Zone points built up, and I don't even go there that often. Just chance and lucky timing, I'm not that clever!

well, I'm from europe. so it was this my best chance to get it!

Yes, it would be a long drive. But for about $40 per set, and given the weak dollar, I think you did very well! I've never looked but other posters have said the prices for Vol. 1 are upwards of $300 on Amazon or ebay. Hock the diamonds!
