I did just get the new 70th anniversary DVD. I already have the previous edition. The difference in quality between this new edition and the past is like night and day - literally! The transfer shows the serial in crisp black and white - it looks as if it was filmed yesterday! All of the details are present and crystal clear. The sound is also cleaned up and crisp and fresh. The serial was tops as it is in any version. This new 70th anniversary edition is perfect and you can watch it all without being distracted by issues with sound and video quality. the extras on the second disc are also top-notch. The first two radio episodes of the show, an overview of Buck Rogers from print to film to TV, Buster Crabbe giving his thoughts on the serial are all great to see and hear. There is also a 1935 video incarnation of Buck Rogers, a short, and it also is great. Video quality on that, while not as perfect as the transfer on the serial, is still quite quite good. Dr Huer even looks like the Doc of the newspaper strip. All and all, the 70th anniversary edition is top notch.
