Just a guess. He may have been played by 'Artie Ortego'. His character is listed as 'Lordsburg bar patron'.

I don't have his credits handy, but Artie Ortega turns up in a number of Republic serials as do Tom Tyler, Bryant Washburn and, of course, Yakima Canutt.
Washburn has a great featured role in KING OF THE ROYAL MOUNTED as owner of the trading post where he directs the 5th columnists and kills the heroine's father. Allen Lane and the mounties must be dense or something because the post is still being used by the Axis powers in KING OF THE MOUNTIES as is the mining operation.
The first serial also has a surprising number of sacrifices: Inspector King(Herbert Rawlinson) and brother Robert Kent sacrifice themseles, and father Stanley Andrews is murdered.
