Does anyone know who died while filming Stagecoach in 1939?

So far as I know, nobody died during the shooting of "Stagecoach," but you may be thinking of a later Ford picture, "The Horse Soldiers," where a stunt man was killed in a fall. (The actor who plays Hans in "Rio Grande," and has the fight with Wayne's son.) Ford was reportedly so shaken by it he basically gave up on the movie, and wrapped it ahead of schedule.

Horses, many horses, sacrificed to punch up the indian kill shots.

Gave Stagecoach a 10, then marked it down to an 8 due to blatant animal abuse, routine in this period of film-making.
