Cheyniest or Chesnaye?

First of all, I thought this was an absolutely brilliant movie (I finished watching it 5 minutes ago ).

My only question (so far) is about the name of the principal family. In the film (from what I heard), the subtitles, and a picture of the shooting script (on the Criterion disc set) the name is "Chesnaye". Yet on the IMDB and other sites on the internet, they are referred to as "Cheyniest".

What's the name?

Is there some hidden backstory about Renoir changing the names or something like that? Who's wrong: Criterion, Renoir, or IMDB?

BTW I have to say I loved the performance by Robert de la Che_____

Well, if you look at the credits in the film, it is written Cheyniest. But, in all the reviews I have read about this (wonderful) film, they write Chesnaye. Don't ask me why !

Glad you enjoyed the film !
