Best Performance to Ever Touch the Screen

In my opinion, Jimmy Stewart's Jefferson Smith was so authentic and sympathetic that I have to call his the greatest acting performance in any film. What do you think?

It was pretty Brilliant, Definitely one of the greatest I've seen. Claude Rains was also INCREDIBLE in this film.

Forgive me for sounding 'trollish' but I thought it looked like he was acting.

"Pffft, my suspension of disbelief has higher standards than that"

its fine, no reason this can't be respectful. I think back in those days the standards were different than they were today. If you watch more films from that era, there are a lot of performances that are either wooden or over the top
