Any Charles Lane Fans Out There?

If you watch old movies he is as familiar as if he were family. Capra used Charlie in three films. Near the beginning he's the newspaper man that Jefferson chases into the Press Club Restaurant. He was indispensable in small roles in hundreds of films and then on TV. Lucille Ball loved him - he played the no nonsense curmudgeon straight guy to her zaniness on many I Love Lucy shows. he played in his last film at the age of 102 (!).

Big fan of Charles Lane here. My wife's favorite movie is It's a Wonderful Life, and so anytime I see Lane in anything else, I tell her, "That's the guy who tells Mr. Potter that he's going to ask George Bailey for a job." She always pretends to find these catches fascinating.

Maybe she pretends to pretend to find these fascinating and really finds them fascinating. Marriage can do that to you (so can old, old movies!).
