On DVD at Last!!!

Universal has just announced that Midnight (1939) will be released on DVD on April 22nd as part of their Universal Cinema Classics line!!!

Wow, that's great. This is one of my favorites from the 30's (or any decade for that matter).

Darn! That means it won't be out on Blu-Ray since Universal is still behind HD-DVD.

Not true Universal just announced that they are going Blu-Ray as of July 22nd. Don't know if this will get the Blu-Ray treatment.

Don't hold your breath on any Blu-ray release of older movies. There is virtually nothing from the Golden Age of Hollywood on Blue-ray and just a smattering on now dead HD DVD, notably Casablanca and The Adventures of Robin Hood (which I believe were, sadly, poor sellers).

When will it be released in the UK? Anybody have any idea? I've waited to see this for years now!

I just saw this last night on TCM; I had never seen it. I really enjoyed this film. I would like to have the DVD when it comes out.
